New Post: menus not displayed in IE8

I fixed the menu issue by added a meta tag in the MasterPage.master

    <link href="Tackle.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

This requests IE8 to render as IE7

I installed Tackle on a WinXP box for evaluation purposes. When I access the Tackle website using IE8, the menus show up as an empty white square. Using Firefox the menus are displayed correctly. What needs to be done to fix this?

I have dowload the software and worked on some sample projects and show to our project team members. Every one is happy to implement the TACKLE. We would like to have an option to upload the images ( screen shots) for the product back log. Do you have any plan of adding the screen shots in the product backlog.

I'm on the fourth try. First with 2008 R2. No go. I've tried 2008 + IIS7 and it is just not working. Twice the installer just rollsback after creating the database (with no tables/schema). Does anyone have Tackle working on 2008 x64 + IIS7? Please let me know if you had to do anything special. I don't see too many (any) replies to most posts here, so here's hoping for a response. :)

I'm trying to get Tackle working with Windows Server 2008 R2 and IIS 7. The discussions on installation seem to have gotten me closer but I'm still not able to get Tackle to fully work.

Are there any additional pointers or step by steps that folks have used to get this working correctly?

IIS on win7 machine.

UAC disabled and ajax is installed.

The DB is created corretly.

The account to enter as the admin is the windows alias of the user you want to have administrative access initially. As it's possible that the person installing the software may not be the appropriate administrator, we didn't fill it in automatically.

It is probable that the version of the System.Web.Extensions.dll on your system is newer than 1.0. If you locate the System.Web.Extensions.dll installed on your system you can use powershell to get the full name with the command [System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadFrom("THE FULL PATH OF THE DLL HERE").FullName

You should then search and replace in your web.config file.

Why don't you add the source code for this project to TFS/SVN so that the community can actually see the state of development and contribute! Isn't this the point of Codeplex (note the use of the word CODE in the site's title). I know you can get the source code via the installer, but apparently somebody on your team missed the memo regarding open source and community.

Sorry for annoy your team, but I really interresting in your project. I have 2 questions.

1. I cannot compile the project (The first time I can, but I uninstall and remove DB, then reinstall again).

Could not load file or assembly

'System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies.

The system cannot find the file specified. C:\inetpub\wwwroot\Tackle\web.config

Any suggestion? I use visual studio 2008 with AjaxToolkit 3.0

2. The reason I reinstall because I cannot see the Administrator features. I confused with the document that said

"Enter into this field the alias of the person who will be the administrator of the Tackle instance." What I need to enter?

Is it the window user name? I know this is very stupid question caused I try to search on the forum but the explanation still uncleard.

If it use the windows user name, document just say exactly, and if use the windows account, why don't the Installer take care this part?

First time I install, I enter 'admin', I found it in the user table (tblUser) but I cannot use the admin features. The forum say to try to add an account, so i use

the administrator (the Windows user account of mine) but still cannot use admin features.

Is there a way to get a report of of all Backlog items for a product without regard to the completed state?
Currently I'm using the database directly.

All the source code for the website and the database is included when you install Tackle. So get it installed and all the C# files for the web site are installed with the website. The stored procs are all in the database.
