Trouble accessing http://yourServer/Tackle for the first time?

Topics: Tackle Installation

During the Tackle installer, the value you select as the "Tackle Administrator (No Domain)" is the only user account enabled for access to Tackle via the web UI. If you have just installed Tackle and you do not have access to the web UI, you selected something other than your domain alias during Tackle setup as the "Tackle Administrator (No Domain)". To fix this, open SQL Server Management Studio, open the tblUsers table for editing, and either: 1) modify the existing UserID 1 row to include your domain alias as the "UserName" -or- 2) add a new record specifying your domain alias as the "UserName" and "1" as the "fDefaultScrumTeamID".

We have installed Tackle on a stand-a-lone workgroup server that is not part of any domain. To bring up web sites we use localhost or the server's name (http://ziggy). What alias would we enter to allow us past the "Access Denied" messages? Entering "http://localhost" or "http://ziggy" has not worked.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Seems like a really cool application!

Thanks,

Mike

Here's the skinny from a gracious member of the project team...

The Alias referred to is a windows username. I.e. "Administrator", The way it was explained above threw me. I'm dense at times, what can I say... ;)
Though it is not recommended to use the Administrator account.

I don't think yer dense at all mate. I think there's a hole in the UI, since I've never seen a website w/o a login capability. This website is crying for this add'l feature.
